An elegant, elevated thatch and timber structure serves as the main building comprising a main sitting area, wildlife reference library, dining room and cocktail bar inviting a true sense of the African wilderness. Other facilities include a secluded swimming pool with sundeck and thatched boma where brunch and high tea are served.
Peeking out from under a lush green woodland canopy, Camp Moremi, in the Xakanaxa area of Moremi Game Reserve, is a truly hidden gem. At the point where the life-giving waters of the Okavango Delta meet the vast plains of the Kalahari Desert, Mother Nature has created a sanctuary of Mopane forests, open grasslands, seasonal floodplains and riverine habitats, resulting in one of the most magnificent and welcoming animal environments in all of Africa.
Shaded from the African sun by a forest of ancient ebony trees, Camp Moremi is an elegant thatch and timber lodge consisting of an elevated main lounge, wildlife reference library, dining room and cocktail bar.
Facilities at Camp Moremi include a secluded swimming pool and sundeck, an elevated viewing platform with a breathtaking panorama of Xakanaxa Lagoon, and a thatched boma where guests can enjoy brunch or afternoon tea. For an authentic and personal safari experience, Camp Moremi accommodates just 22 guests in East African-style individual safari tents, each situated on a raised teak platform with private adjacent facilities and viewing deck.
Regretfully, Camp Moremi is unable to accept children under the age of six. Families with children aged 6-11 will be required to book private activities at an additional cost, the nature of which may be subject to the discretion of the managers or guides. Children aged 12-15 must share accommodation with a parent. No childcare or babysitting service is provided at any of their properties and children remain the responsibility of their parents at all times.
Camp Moremi operates on AC 220V generator power which is available during the day and evening. Guest accommodation is equipped with a 220-volt AC plug which is suitable for hairdryers and the recharging of camera and video batteries. The generator is switched off at night and invert 12-volt DC lighting provides room and bathroom illumination overnight.
Due to its remote and unspoilt location, there are no telephone, fax, email or internet facilities at Camp Moremi. There is also no cell phone coverage. However, Lodge Managers are in constant two-way radio contact with our Maun Operations Office through whom important messages can be relayed.
