National Geographic’s ‘Best new trips for 2010” includes Botswana’s Selinda Reserve

Destination: Blog

2010 is already half way through its course and if you’re planning to go on holiday this year, it’s likely that you’ve already begun thinking about which destination you’d like to explore. With so much beauty to discover in the world, how can you possibly decide? If you’re looking for travel destination advice, you might want to consider the very knowledgeable National Geographic and what they believe are the “Best new trips for 2010”.

Making the list is Botswana’s Selinda Reserve – a private sanctuary for a wide variety of animals including lions, elephants, wild dog, buffalo, leopards and rare species like the roan, aardwolf and civet. Visitors can explore the Reserve’s beauty and game by foot, 4×4 and canoe. With the Selinda Spillway at its highest level in three decades this year, National Geographic recommends this area as more buffalo and elephants will be lured by the water, bringing with them more predators. The high level of the Spillway also means that it is a great time for guests to explore the Reserve with canoe-camping trips.
